Abstract watercolor using various textures.. an assignment for a class, I had fun with this, and havent put anything else up lately, so yeah, why not? I played with this in photoshop a bit and added the lense flares, I guess I'm a tool like that.
*edit*
2-7-08 I kept getting all these comments that the lens flair looks baaad. I am starting to see that. Even though this has been up for over a year I re-uploaded without the lens flair, it's apparently the only thing anyone looks at of mine on DA, and I don't want it to suck. Heh heh.
It's so pretty and colourfull. Your eyes just get drawn to it. An amazing painting, I really must say. The spot of light in the upper right corner is amazingly done. Great job. How long did it take for you to finish it? I am merely curious.

Her wish to die was as pervasive as a dial tone: you lift the receiver, it’s always there
I can't believe you actually got 10 hours in class to make this. We usually only get two hours to come up with an idea, sketch it out and finally paint it. You lucky person. Photoshop has many abilities I yet know nothing of.

Her wish to die was as pervasive as a dial tone: you lift the receiver, it’s always there
I think I spent 2 days in class on this... so.. maybe 5 hours in class, and worked on it quite a bit at home. It's pretty large (I should measure it)... 2 hours doesnt seem like very long. How big do you usually have to work? It was a slow process for me though, because it would take a long time for something to dry before I could put another layer of plastic wrap or tin foil or whatever on it. Maybe I overdid it with the layering...
It must have been pretty annoying dragging the painting home from ze school. We usually work A3 or larger. Last time we had to make a model of a pavilion (WTF?!). All we had to work with was cardbord and glue - a rather impressive feat I must say. Keep overdoing the laying - it has a great effect.

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
